Girls entering Grades 5-8 and their Mothers
August 1-2 (Saturday & Sunday)
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
One weekend session
Laurel’s Butler Campus in Russell Township

*Cost for one mother-daughter duo; an additional daughter can be added for an additional fee of $465; tuition includes lunch, snacks, workshop materials and signed copies of Dr. Damour's books. Travel and lodging costs are the responsibility of the attendees.
The retreat will take place at Laurel School's Butler Campus where girls will participate in confidence-boosting programming with Ann V. Klotz, Head of Laurel School and 35-year veteran of girls' education; psychologist Lisa Damour, PhD; and members of the Laurel School Faculty.
While their daughters participate in workshops and brave the Project Adventure Ropes Course, moms will meet in small groups with Ms. Klotz and Dr. Damour. Ms. Klotz will facilitate reflective writing and small group conversation about all aspects of motherhood. Dr. Damour will lead book group discussions of her New York Times bestsellers Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions Into Adulthood and Under Pressure: Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Girls. [Signed copies of both books will be sent to all participants in June.]

Before the weekend concludes, moms will do some resilience-building work of their own and join their daughters in programming designed to build mutual understanding and strengthen the mother-daughter connection.
