Megan Weiskopf

Director of Teaching & Learning, Laurel School
Mrs. Weiskopf came to Laurel in 2002 and has held many roles including Middle and Upper school teaching, English Department Chair, Curriculum Coordinator, Director of the Upper School and currently the Director of Teaching and Learning.

Mrs. Weiskopf earned her B.A. in English and Psychology from Allegheny College and her M.A. in English Literature from Indiana University in Bloomington, where she taught Writing and Composition and Literature and Composition to undergraduates for three years. Prior to teaching at Laurel, she taught Grades 5, 8 and 10 at the Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, IN.

In her time at Laurel, she has received the Virginia Beidler Neff ‘29 Award for teachers who demonstrate excellence and potential in the classroom within their first three years of teaching at Laurel and The Mary French Conway '46 Award for Teaching Excellence at Laurel School, and the Hostetler Chair for master teachers who have taught for at least ten years and who have demonstrated excellence in teaching in the classroom as well as an unusual ability to communicate with students. She feels fortunate that in her years at Laurel she has had the opportunity to wear many hats; a favorite role that she has maintained throughout many transitions during her time in the Upper School is that of Senior Speech advisor, which allows her to work closely with individual students on claiming their voices and sharing their stories.
