Doctoral Student/Post-Doc Fellowship with LCRG

The LCRG Fellowship provides an exceptional opportunity for advanced doctoral/post-doctoral students to gain high-impact experience with minimal time commitment by collaborating with an innovative independent school community while sharing their research process and outcomes. 
This fellowship is a partnership between Laurel School and Laurel’s Center for Research for Girls (LCRG). Laurel School is an all-girls school (with a co-ed Early Childhood program) serving approximately 590 students from Early Childhood through Grade 12.

  • Compensation and Expectations

    The fellow will receive a stipend of $5,000 and reimbursement of travel costs for
    • One visit to the Laurel School campus in Shaker Heights, Ohio to present their work and meet with LCRG and the school community.
    • Two hour-long webinars per semester (total of 4) for Laurel students and/or faculty related to their research.
    • Periodic availability to high school students interested in the Fellow’s field of study. There may also be opportunities for speaking engagements with the broader Laurel community.
  • Application Instructions

    Applications should be made online, to be reviewed by Co-Directors of the Center for Research for Girls, and should include the following materials:
    1. A statement of interest (500-750 words) describing how your prior or current research could contribute to the intellectual life of the Laurel School community, including ideas you may have for parent or student presentations.
    2. A current curriculum vitae.
    3. A one-page summary of your scholarly interests, including work conducted in laboratory settings, dissertation research, or other scholarly projects.
    4. A letter of recommendation from a member of your dissertation committee or research advisor, confirming your eligibility and providing their support for your application, emailed to LCRG@LaurelSchool.org.
    Decisions will be shared by Thursday, May 14, 2026.
